Upskilling Through Educational Resuscitation Courses

Our Goal is to set the standard in community emergency department Resuscitation.

MARS MISERICORDIA ADVANCED RESUSCITATION SKILLS

The MARS program is an educational project for nurses, respiratory therapists, and physicians who work in the emergency department at the Misericordia Community Hospital. The goal is to advance our skills and comfort in treating critically ill patients using three strategies:

  • High-Fidelity Patient Simulation Cases
  • Educational Podcasts and Recordings
  • Creating a Community of Practice

Our Programs

Courses will also be offered in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Advanced Medical Life Support (AMLS) to assist in laying the foundation for MARS.

A needs analysis was conducted to hone our focus on developing the simulation program. See the chart below.

MARS will begin in the fall of 2021.
